Wow! I love the creativity of your customers, and can see how they are drawn to your fabulous shop! Halloween sure is fun in your town -- and that last pic makes the perfect 'ending'. :)

Waltham at long last is due to emerge from fashion somnolence with the arrival of Cur.io! Cannot wait to stop in and take a long look at the retro goodies and pull a thing or two with me into the modern era. The pictures look fab ! With a mascot like yours, you are sure to be a hit !

I love the "renewed" and "restyled" items. It keeps it modern and modest at the same time!

Thanks, Chris! And I agree with you completely: A salvaged garment has the most wonderful, unique quality--not "new" but "renewed"...

There's an artsy open air market in Boston on Sundays that I checked out a couple of weeks ago, and I was truly distressed to see at least three purse "designers" who had jumped on the vintage wagon by cannibalizing intact vintage items to "create" their "designs". Gorgeous 50s rhinestone brooches with the pinbacks broken off to transform them into purse clasps, suits demolished to make "tweed" clutches, nice quality leather purses made "one of a kind" with a silly looking stenciled design... sigh...

Very intelligent blog. I enjoy the challenge of saving something from the landfill. Sometimes you just cant save it just because it is old. I rather salvage what I can and make something new. The beauty of it that the new item has some of the flavor of the old item.

Oh I was watching the Rachael Zoe Project on Bravo. I was disgusted when her assistant in discussing Zoe's possible NEW clothing line she mentions having to cull through vintage for ideas..... I really dislike this show.
